Dripping into the soul

Between Equilibrium and Chaos

At Satura Gallery in Genoa, my latest exhibition showcased a new body of work where I explored the tension between equilibrium and chaos through my dripping portraits. These pieces embody a raw energy, a delicate balance where control meets unpredictability—each stroke and drip guided yet spontaneous.

Red dominates the series, a color that carries multiple layers of meaning passion, intensity, struggle, and life itself. It flows like a pulse through the portraits, reinforcing the emotional depth of each subject. The drips, seemingly random, are in fact carefully orchestrated to interact with the structure of the face, enhancing the expressiveness of each figure.

Through this technique, I wanted to push the boundaries between abstraction and realism, allowing viewers to feel the duality within the works. The portraits emerge and dissolve simultaneously, reflecting the transient and ever-changing nature of identity and human emotion. It’s a dance between order and disorder, where the chaos of drips doesn’t erase the subject but rather amplifies their presence, making them feel more alive.

This exhibition was an invitation to experience art beyond static representation to see movement in stillness, to find harmony in distortion, and ultimately, to witness how chaos can be an integral part of balance.
